Vercel Serverless Functions

Deploy serverless APIs and backend logic with zero-config on Vercel’s global edge network. · Vercel · Compute

Overview

Vercel Serverless Functions let you deploy backend logic and APIs with minimal configuration, scaling automatically and running close to your users on Vercel’s edge network.

Good fit

Use for lightweight APIs, webhooks, or backend logic that benefit from global edge deployment and simple scaling.

  • prototyping
  • static site backends
  • personal projects
  • small teams

Not a fit

Avoid for long-running processes, heavy compute workloads, or when you need fine-grained control over infrastructure.

  • need long execution times
  • require custom runtimes
  • heavy compute workloads
